Didn’t take our chances

-

Manager Stephen Robinson was unhappy his side didn’t make their pressure tell as his side lost out to a dogged Killie.

“I think if you look at possession stats, we had a large large amount of the possession,”he said.“I think we put 30 crosses into the box in the game but someone has to get on the end of them.

“I didn’t feel we were under any kind of threat.

“Our decision making in the final third wasn’t good enough at times. We had four or five chances to put people through in one-on-one situations, but chose the wrong options.

“Up until the final third of the pitch I thought some of it was excellent.

“We didn’t score the goals we probably deserved but we’ll pick ourselves up and there’s a lot of positives I can take from it.”

Curtis Main was partially at fault for the Killie winner, but Robinson backed his man to bounce back after making a brilliant impression at Fir Park since joining.

He said:“Main’s a concientious boy. He’s made a mistake but he’s pulled us out of the bag so many times we’ll forgive him for that.

“All the forward players were a threat but they can be better with their decision making at times In critical two vs one situations but we’ll learn from that. They’ve carried us for a few weeks the forward boys so we’ll go again next week.”
