The college was recognised for exemplary work in the communications and PR category and the customer experience category at the awards ceremony, lifting two golds and a bronze award.

Held in Drygate Brewery, Glasgow, the team accepted a gold award for a campaign around the college’s success at WorldSkills competitions, par t i c u l a r l y a round Medallion of Excellence award winner Betsy Crosbie, now the face of the College’s STEM promotion.

Having previously won the gold award in the category in 2016 and 2017, the college was also given bronze in the category, for a communications campaign developed around Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2017, where a number of student case studies were given national coverage.

The second gold award of the evening was also presented to the college for providing exceptional customer experience with its student funding campaign – ‘Funding Pigs to the Rescue’ – after the entire student funding process was revamped with a new communications strategy, design and process.

Karyn Sibbald, head of marketing and communications at New College Lanarkshire, said: “Marketing and communications is still sometimes not recognised as a vital piece of the puzzle in further education, but the talent in the room at the CDN Marketing Awards would impress anyone.

“The team at New College Lanarkshire work so hard on a daily basis and they are flying high. They work towards a common goal, whilst always having fun – and the results show!”

The CDN Marketing Awards are designed to recognise the excellent practice taking place in Scotland’s 25 further education colleges.
