Help call to raise the roof
A well- used Wishaw hall is in need of an urgent cash injection.
The Carrick Hall in Coltness is home to a number of local groups but is facing a cash crisis as it is in dire need of a new roof.
And with quotes coming in at over £8,000, members of Coltness Community Council are set to apply for funding in a bid to, literally, keep the roof over everyone’s heads.
Community council chairman John Carr said: “The quotes that have been received are pretty eye watering.
“It’s a well- used hall within Coltness and the number of groups using it is starting to build up. “But the metal roof on it has to go.” Community council members were discuss what funding options were available to them at their April meeting.
Community council secretary Jane Fleming added: “Various groups across Coltness use the hall.
“We have baby gymnastics, dance classes and it is also used for events like birthday parties and communions.
“We don’t charge a lot. It’s only £10 per hour and £27 for three hours.
“We have been advised to look for more quotes and to source funding.”
