Hope for Autsim funding boost
Funding to support young people in North Lanarkshire with autism has been announced by Young Scot.
Thanks to the funding from the Young Scot Sandy Watson Memorial Fund, young people working with HOPE for Autism will receive £2,000 to support their work.
HOPE for Autism will run a 12-week music, DJ, and video workshop for young people with autism aiming to build skills and confidence and to have a positive impact on their mental health.
Claire Dunn from Hope for Autism said: “We asked other young people in the groups what they would like to change in 2018.
“To have people listen and to help others understand autism were main points in the feedback.
“So we are planning a creative- media and music project to give them a platform to show autism rocks!”
HOPE for Autism run a range of educational based activities for children and young people aged two to 25.
They also offer support to families and carers living across North Lanarkshire affected by autism.
