Big- hear ted Shotts businessman Billy Stevenson brought some Easter festivity to sick Wishaw kids when he handed out free eggs to families in the hospital’s kid’s unit.

On Easter Sunday, the Loony Tunes Disco owner took time out from his busy holiday schedule to visit University Hospital Wishaw to try and help raise spirits.

And the visit went down a treat with the children and their families.

Billy said: “We must have seen about 20 different kids and most were really excited.

“Some parents said it had made their kid’s day and as I said as long as we made one child smile then it will have been worth it. The staff were really pleased with it and I think it helped to break up the day for everyone.”

Billy’s young son Kenzie came along for the trip, along with 15-year-old Hollie Latham, who volunteered to wear the costume up to the hospital.

Billy added: “Hollie really enjoyed it and I think it was a good thing for her to do.

“It was quite eye-opening, for me as well. If you ever think you have it bad then you should visit there and you’ll think twice.

“When you see weans all tubed up it’s heartbreaking. Hopefully we helped even just a little bit on the day.”
