And The Ticket La­nark­shire has teamed up with the horce rac­ing venue to of­fer five lucky read­ers a pair of tick­ets to the hotlyan­tic­i­pated Totepool Fam­ily Race­day fea­tur­ing multi-award win­ning Scot­tish chef Gary Ma­clean. Glas­gow-born Gary, who won Masterchef: The Pro­fes­sion­als in 2016 and was re­cently an­nounced as Scot­land’s first Na­tional Chef, will hold cook­ery demon­stra­tions at the race­day on Sun­day, May 6. The 45-year-old will de­sign and over­see the hos­pi­tal­ity menu on the day, which will fea­ture dishes in­flu­enced by his time on Masterchef.

It’s set to be a real fam­ily af­fair with free en­try to Un­der-18s and a huge ar­ray of free chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties.

Kids can en­joy a game of hu­man ta­ble foot­ball, pony rides, Wii Switch bat­tles, as well as firm favourites laser tag, face paint­ing and bungee tram­po­lines.

En­joy top-class rac­ing ac­tion and look out for the high­light £30,000 Totepool Tan­ger­ine Trees Con­di­tions Stakes over six fur­longs and the fa­mous £22,000 Totepool But­ton­hook Hand­i­cap Stakes.

Gates open at 11.30am on the day, with thor­ough­bred ac­tion get­ting un­der­way at 1.30pm.

The fix­ture also marks the launch of new-look hos­pi­tal­ity boxes for 2018, fol­low­ing a pre-sea­son in­vest­ment of £250,000, which saw up­grade works across the venue.

The Totepool Fam­ily Race­day fea­tur­ing Gary Ma­clean is the first of three ex­cit­ing May fix­tures.

On May 18, the first evening rac­ing of the sea­son takes place at the Pal­maris Ser­vices Brave­heart Night with Big Vern N The Shootahs, be­fore the DM Hall Race­day rounds off the month on May 31.
