Kim looked the cat that got the gleam

-

It’s not like Kim Kardashian to send the internet in meltdown ... much!

As usual Ms K whipped social media into a frenzy when she stepped out at this year’s Met Gala.

Her shimmering, figure hugging golden gown certainly grabbed the attention at the Heavenly Bodies themed event.

I loved the dress and the high pony tail and her makeup look was everywhere the following day, with girls all over the world desperate to recreate it.

Shhh .. say it quietly. It wasn’t my favourite makeup look of Kim’s –I liked it, but didn’t love it. I found it heavy but there’s no denying it was very striking.

So with that in mind I have decided to walk you through a more summery, softer version of what was a bold look.

Instead of full coverage, I’m going for a beautiful, dewy tinted moisturiser instead.

For the base use Les Beiges sheer healthy glow tinted moisturiser by Chanel.

It’s got just enough coverage to even out your complexion, but your own skin will shine through.

Buff this on using a chunky rounded foundation brush.

For under eyes, try a new product from Benefit –Boi-ing brightening concealer. A little goes a long way and it gives amazing coverage without drying the under eye area.

Get your summery glow using a bronzer. I love Bobbi Brown as their range of shades and texture is perfect. You can also apply this to lightly contour the cheeks.

Define the brows, but not too much, keep them natural but enhance the arch.

Once you’ve primed the eye area, use a warm toned shadow in the crease and outer corners of the eyes. There is so much choice out there right now when it comes to eye shadow palettes so it really depends on your budget.

The Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette is amazing for this look!

Use a large blending brush to get a really soft blended look.

Liner was the main focal point of Kim’s look – it’s a real cat eye look.

Using a black gel liner and a thin liner brush, trace the entire eye area with the gel right into the inner corners of the eye to meet in a point.

Don’t try to keep a straight line, instead do little strokes to build up the line as it’s so much easier.

I thought Kim’s lashes were just too much. Instead I love Ardell’s demi wispies to complete the look.

Last, but not least, is her famous pout and her signature nude lip. MAC Velvet Teddy or Kinda Sexy are perfect for the job.

So there you have it, a slightly toned down version rocked by Ms K herself ... now go try break the internet!
