Colt­ness Me­mo­rial Church’s an­nual arts and crafts ex­hi­bi­tion opens to­day and runs un­til Satur­day, in aid of Alzheimer Scot­land. Open­ing times are 10am to 9pm from to­day un­til Fri­day, and on Satur­day, from 10am to 2pm. Tea and cof­fee bar will be avail­able with home bak­ing. A spe­cial cup cake day will take place in the church on Thurs­day, prior to the Alzheimer So­ci­ety’s na­tional Cup Cake day on Fri­day. Struthers Pen­te­costal Church Weekly meet­ings are held on Wed­nes­days at 7.30pm in the Old Gospel Hall in Bon­kle Road. New­mains and district com­mu­nity coun­cil are hold­ing their an­nual gen­eral meet­ing tonight in the NCT Cen­tre, New­mains at 7pm. The com­mit­tee in­vite res­i­dents to come along to this meet­ing, get in­volved and find out more about their work and so­cial ac­tiv­i­ties in the com­mu­nity and help to make the vil­lage a bet­ter place to live and work. Bon­kle Parish Church ser­vice, Sun­day school and creche is at the usual time of noon on Sun­day. Speak to the min­is­ter if you know of any­one re­quir­ing a pas­toral visit. The con­gre­ga­tion are asked to check with the church diary be­fore ar­rang­ing any new events or func­tions. Char­ity shop at Manse Road, New­mains is open Mon­day to Thurs­day, from 9.30am un­til 3.30pm. Com­puter club meets at 10am and 1pm in Bon­kle Church hall on Mon­days, with bad­minton in the large hall of the church that night at 7.30pm. All wel­come. Oa­sis group gath­ers in the small of Colt­ness Me­mo­rial Church at 6.30pm on Tues­days, and new mem­bers will be made wel­come. Arts and crafts group is held in the large hall of Bon­kle Church on Tues­days, from 7pm to 9pm, and new mem­bers will be made wel­come. Food bank thanks every­one for their con­tin­ued sup­port and is open in the vil­lage on Wed­nes­days at 1pm. This week the group are looking for do­na­tions of tea and cof­fee, pasta and rice, spaghetti and noo­dles, soups, tinned fruit and veg­eta­bles, bis­cuits, and tinned meat and fish. Arts and crafts ex­hi­bi­tion will run in the vil­lage from now un­til Sun­day. Fea­tured crafts in­clud­ing paint­ings, needlecraft, pho­tog­ra­phy, wood­work and more will be on sale; pro­ceeds go to Alzheimer Scot­land. It is open to­day un­til Fri­day, from 10am to 9pm and on Satur­day, 10am to 2pm. A cof­fee bar and home bak­ing will be avail­able; en­trance costs £1. Bi­ble study takes place at 10.30am in the of­fice of Colt­ness Me­mo­rial Church on Thurs­days. Rain­bows, Brown­ies and Guides meet at their usual times in Bon­kle Church hall on Fri­days.
