Calderhead High School parent council meets on the first Thursday of every month at 6pm in the school. If you are a parent or guardian of a pupil, you can come along and observe one of their meetings. The parent council also have a Twitter account “@Calderhead­PC” and the minutes of meetings can be found on the school’s website. Shotts and District Rotary Club have their meetings every Wednesday evening in the Station Hotel, Shotts. EU Congregati­onal Church the ladies fellowship takes place in the church on Friday at 10.30am. The morning service on Sunday is at 11.30am, and singing group meets on Tuesdays at 7pm. Salvation Army Corps the friendship club meets on Tuesdays, from 1pm to 3pm. There will be a Scottish themed quiz tonight at 7pm, and the toddlers’ group and graduation is on Thursday morning, from 9.30am to 11.30am. Prayer meeting takes place on Thursday evening at 7pm. The Friday club and JAM club are now on holiday and will resume later in the year. The Sunday morning meeting at 10.45m will be led by Lieutenant Amy-Jo Battersby. On Monday, the organisati­on will welcome visitors from America who will be in the town for approximat­ely 17 days. Bon Accord Club The club are taking new bookings, so do get in touch if you would like to hold an event there. The function hall is available to hire for events and weddings. Lodge St John 471 The regular meetings of the lodge are now in recess, and will resume later in the year. Community council meets on the first Monday of the month in the Community Centre in Kirk Road at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings. Slimming group has classes every Wednesday at 9.30am, 5.30pm and 7.30pm in Epic Studios, Shottskirk Road (above Ladbrokes at Dykehead Cross). Everyone going along will be made most welcome.
