Jade hopes to make difference

-

A kind-hearted Harthill girl is donating her hair to charity after being inspired by the village’s cancer support group.

Alexander Peden PS pupil Jade Milligan is growing her hair until January when she will get it all lopped off for the Little Princesstrust, who provide hair for youngsters battling cancer.

And the determined eight-year-old is also raising money in the process for the Harthill Cancer Support Group, which she has begun volunteering with alongside her gran.

Jade’s mum Claire Dolan explained:“her big cousin did the same last year and I think that made her mind up to do it.

“She’s also been going up to the Cancer Support Group with her gran so I think that’s inspired her to help in any way she can.

“We’re so proud of her. She’s excited now but I’m sure she’ll get a wee bit nervous nearer the time! She’s already raised £260 and will hopefully build that up even more until January.”

As well as the support from the cancer group, Jade’s siblings Zac and Eva-lilly are behind her.
