Street assault denied
A man has denied an assault charge based on sexual prejudice.
Barry White appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and pleaded not guilty to assaulting his alleged victim in Merry Street, Motherwell, on April 14 last year.
It is alleged White repeatedly punched the man on the body.
White, of Bellshill Road, Motherwell, is also alleged to have called the man offensive names and grabbed his mobile phone from him before smashing it.
White, 29, was granted bail but will return to court on January 21 for a further hearing in the case.
He is due to stand trial on February 6.
