Bonkle Parish Church service, Sunday school and creche is at noon on Sunday. Items required for the Shoebox appeal this week include small colouring books, coloured pencils, rubbers, candles, combs, new socks, and underwear. Speak to the minister if you know of anyone requiring a pastoral visit. A lovely lunch was served after the service last Sunday, and big thank you goes to the ladies who made this possible. Charity shop at Manse Road, Newmains is open Monday to Thursday, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Computer club meets on Mondays at 10am and 1pm, and badminton is held in the large hall of the church at 7.30pm. Coltness guild meets in Coltness Memorial church on Mondays at 1.45pm and the Arts and Crafts group meet at 7pm to 9pm. Oasis group run on Tuesdays at 6.30pm in the small hall of Coltness Memorial church. Food Bank Thanks everyone for their continued support and is open in the village on Wednesdays at 1pm. Men’s and ladies club meets on Wednesdays at 7pm. Bible study is held in the office of Coltness Memorial church on Thursdays at 10.30am, Thursday club is at 2pm, and choir practise is in the church at 7pm. Rainbows, Brownies and Guides meet in the hall of Bonkle church on Fridays at the usual times. Poppy Appeal Anyone knitting or crocheting poppies for the church Armistice Day celebratio­n should hand them in to Carol King or bring them to church on Sunday. Ladies fellowship next meeting is on November 6 with a guest from St Andrew’s Hospice. Alternativ­e Christmas shop in Wishaw Parish Church halls, Main Street, Wishaw from November 5-10, from 10am to 4pm and on the Saturday at 10am to noon. Stonehouse male voice choir presents an Evening of Song in Bonkle church on November 19 at 7pm.
