Wishaw Academy pupils had the time of their lives on an energetic trip to Kilbowie Outdoor Centre.

The P7 kids took part in a range of exciting activities last week, including gorge walking, abseiling, skiing, orienteering and more.

The trip rounded off with a disco on Thursday night.

Head teacher Kay Barr said the kids had an “absolutely brilliant time” and hopes the centre continues for many more years.

She said: “The children look forward to the trips so much and there’s so many positives to take.

“They’ve been orienteering, skiing, abseiling and lots more. The trip is a fantastic team bonding exercise, and socially it is great for them.

“They meet children from other schools which is good before moving to high school as well.

“It’s also brilliant for their health and wellbeing, being outside all week. Hopefully this will inspire them to keep active later in their lives.

“Kilbowie is a fantastic resource for North Lanarkshire and long may it continue.”
