Cleared of assault on lady at house

A man, accused of assaulting a woman in Pather, has been cleared of the charges against him.

Steven Docherty had always denied seizing his alleged victim by the body and pushing her.

The incident was alleged to have taken place at a house in Etive Street on August 15.

Docherty, 43, was also alleged to have behaved in a threatening manner on the same date by shouting and swearing.

However, Docherty, of Rannoch Drive, Pather, was acquitted of the charges when the case called at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.
