An Overtown family were facing the threat of being made homeless after being told they had no claims on a county council house.

A boundary fence was to be erected around the grounds of Coltness High School at a cost of £1500.

Nine children were injured when a bus taking them from school collided with a lorry in Merry Street, Motherwell. The pupils were all from Braidhurst High School but thankfully no-one was seriously hurt.
