Abba routine breaks record
Dancing queens from NL Leisure’s dance academy took to the streets of Waterloo on Monday morning to join in a record- breaking performance.
To celebrate the DVD release of the smash hit movie ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ its producers were attempting to break the Guinness World Records title for the world’s largest disco dance in Waterloo, London.
And they enlisted the help of dancers in Waterloo, Wishaw, and Waterloo, Merseyside, to make the performance go viral across the UK.
Twenty super troupers clad with pink feather boas looked like they were sending out an SOS as they braved the chill to perform the routine to Abba classic ‘Mamma Mia’ underneath the Waterloo sign on Wishaw Road.
The name of the game was to record the dancers performing at the two regional locations and show them on a screen alongside the 340 dancers performing in London.
The dance was c h o re o g raphed by Anthony Van Laast, the choreographer from the hit movie.
