Teenager in dock onweaponcharge

A Craigneuk teenager has appeared in court, accused of having an offensive weapon in a New Stevenston street.

Eighteen-year-old Jayden Lafferty appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week and denied having a bottle in Wrangholm Drive on July 3.

Lafferty appeared in the dock along with a 15-year-old who denied having a hammer on the same date.

Lafferty, ofthe Broadway, will return to court on January 31 for a further hearing in the case.

She is due to stand trial with her co-accused, who cannot be named because of his age, on March 1.
