Man in court over racism claims

A man has appeared in court, accused of acting in a racially aggravated manner in Newmains.

Davidwalker allegedly acted aggressively before shouting, swearing and making the offensive remarks towards three people.

The offence allegedly took place in Bonds Drive on August 26.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week, Walker, also of Bonds Drive, was granted bail in the case.

The 47-year-old will return to court on Christmas Eve for a further hearing in the case. He is set to stand trial on January 21.
