Reporter gives talk to school pupils
St Aidan’s Primary welcomed a visit from reporter Stefanie Mccourt as part of their Developingthe Youngworkforceweek.
Stefanie – who works at our sister title, the Hamilton Advertiser – spoke with primary six and seven pupils about the importance of local newspapers, and explained our editorial teams’ typical working week.
The youngsters were also interested in hearing some of the jobs our reporters cover, and were particularly keen to learn some shorthand!
The visit was just one of a range held at the Coltness school through the week, with volunteers holding talks and workshops on their careers to teach children about the world of work.
