Overtown Parish Church morning service in the church this Sunday will be communion service, starting at 11am. There will be a creche for younger children. The OK Club and B Club Seven will meet in the church hall at 10.50am until noon. All visitors to the church will be made most welcome. Sewing bee will meet in the small hall of the church at 7pm on Monday, December 3. This will be the last meeting of the year and the group will resume on Monday, January 7. Everyone welcome. Line dancing classes continue on Wednesdays with the beginners’ and refreshers’ course at 12.30 until 1.15pm, followed by the main class starting at 1.15 until 2.45pm. All ages and abilities will be made very welcome. The following week on December 12, the class are holding a ‘Line-danceathon’ from 12.30 until 4pm in the main church hall. Everyone is invited to come along, join in the fun and try some line dancing. This will be followed by a buffet lunch, at a cost of £3. The class will then shut down for the Christmas holidays and resume on January 9. Women’s group There was a change to the syllabus at the Group last week. Instead of the scheduled demonstrat­ion from guest Ann Walker, the ladies were treated to a scarf demonstrat­ion which had been cancelled a few weeks previously. It was a very interestin­g evening and everyone learned that the use of a scarf of the right colour could co-ordinate their outfits. Tonight will see a visit from a Wishaw jewellery company, and the following week on December 5, it will be the annual Christmas dinner at Dalziel Park. This will be the last meeting of the year and the group will resume on January 9 for ‘a night at the movies’. Lunch club gathers each Monday between noon and
