Cam­era Club Fri­day’s meet­ing of Car­luke Cam­era Club fea­tured the judg­ing of the Club’s lat­est print com­pe­ti­tion by Ian Tully, an ex­tremely well-known pro­fes­sional pho­tog­ra­pher who is a mem­ber of Mil­ngavie and Bears­den Cam­era Club. The com­pe­ti­tion at­tracted a record num­ber of 120 en­tries and the judge com­pli­mented the mem­bers on the over­all high qual­ity of the en­tries. The win­ner of the colour sec­tion was ‘First in Line’ by Hunter Kennedy, while the first prize black and white print was ‘My Room’ by Libby Smith. Mon­day’s mem­ber’s work­shop class was led by vice-pres­i­dent Libby Smith­when mem­bers were able to re­ceive valu­able feed­back and anal­y­sis of their com­pe­ti­tion en­tries. This Fri­day’s meet­ing will be the judg­ing of the in­ter-club Cly­des­dale Tro­phy com­pe­ti­tion which is keenly com­peted for by mem­bers of sev­eral neigh­bour­ing clubs. The judge will be Douglas Al­lan who was one of the lead­ing cam­era men on the BBC award-win­ning pro­gramme Blue Planet. This meet­ing will be­gin at 7.30pm on Fri­day in St An­drews Church Hall in Mount Ste­wart Street. As well as mem­bers of the com­pet­ing clubs, vis­i­tors and new mem­bers, in­clud­ing begin­ners, are most wel­come and full de­tails can be found on the club’s web­site.
