Slim­ming suc­cess for Shaun

Af­ter strug­gling to walk be­cause of his ex­ces­sive weight gain - Craigneuk man Shaun Tal­bot knew it was time to slim down.

The 44-year-old caught site of him­self in the mir­ror in Novem­ber last year and hated what he saw look­ing back at him.

Lorry driver Shaun said: “I looked like a fat duck. I was wad­dling and just looked re­ally un­healthy. I knew some­thing had to change. I couldn’t carry on the way I was. As well as strug­gling to walk prop­erly, my back and knees were killing me.”

When Shaun first joined Slim­ming World 12 months ago he weighed a hefty 25st10lbs.

He has now lost an amaz­ing six stones and looks and feels like a new man.

Shaun added:” I’m still not at my tar­get weight but I feel re­ally good. As well as look­ing bet­ter, my health prob­lems have im­proved too. I’ve even stopped wad­dling now, thank­fully.”

Shaun said join­ing the weight loss group ed­u­cated him about what and when he should eat.

He added: “I was a big guy and yes I en­joyed a take­away at the week­end but I didn’t think I ate too much. I hon­estly could not un­der­stand how I was so over­weight. When I started SW and be­gan learn­ing about the plan I re­alised I ac­tu­ally wasn’t eat­ing enough. Be­cause of my job I would skip break­fast and some­times lunch and would maybe only eat one meal a day. It wasn’t good for me.”

Shaun SW con­sul­tant Jac­que­line Weymess said: “I am so very proud of Shaun and his com­mit­ment to mak­ing changes, food op­ti­mis­ing and body magic be­ing key fac­tors to his weight loss jour­ney.

“He has also seen a great sup­port from his fel­low mem­bers.”

Shaun is a mem­ber of the SW group at Mother­well Min­ers So­cial Club. The group runs on Tues­days at 5.30 and 7.30pm.
