Slimming success for Shaun
After struggling to walk because of his excessive weight gain - Craigneuk man Shaun Talbot knew it was time to slim down.
The 44-year-old caught site of himself in the mirror in November last year and hated what he saw looking back at him.
Lorry driver Shaun said: “I looked like a fat duck. I was waddling and just looked really unhealthy. I knew something had to change. I couldn’t carry on the way I was. As well as struggling to walk properly, my back and knees were killing me.”
When Shaun first joined Slimming World 12 months ago he weighed a hefty 25st10lbs.
He has now lost an amazing six stones and looks and feels like a new man.
Shaun added:” I’m still not at my target weight but I feel really good. As well as looking better, my health problems have improved too. I’ve even stopped waddling now, thankfully.”
Shaun said joining the weight loss group educated him about what and when he should eat.
He added: “I was a big guy and yes I enjoyed a takeaway at the weekend but I didn’t think I ate too much. I honestly could not understand how I was so overweight. When I started SW and began learning about the plan I realised I actually wasn’t eating enough. Because of my job I would skip breakfast and sometimes lunch and would maybe only eat one meal a day. It wasn’t good for me.”
Shaun SW consultant Jacqueline Weymess said: “I am so very proud of Shaun and his commitment to making changes, food optimising and body magic being key factors to his weight loss journey.
“He has also seen a great support from his fellow members.”
Shaun is a member of the SW group at Motherwell Miners Social Club. The group runs on Tuesdays at 5.30 and 7.30pm.
