Well want consistency
All Richardtait wants for Christmas is consistency.
Motherwell turned in a woeful display against Livingston, conceding two sloppy goals from set-pieces and turning in an insipid, careless attacking showing.
It was night and day from their 3-0 demolition of Aberdeen seven days earlier as they reverted to the sort of “unacceptable”performance that saw them ship seven against Rangers last month.
Tait, who was stand in captain in Peter Hartley’s absence, said Motherwell need to keep their levels up going into a bumper festive period which will see games come thick and fast.
The defender said:“we don’t go out there to perform in that manner but the drop off in performance is unacceptable.
“We can’t keep stopping and starting – it’s been the story of our season.
“The most frustrating thing for us, and the manager, is we know how well we can play and perform.
“But it’s about putting together a consistent run.”
Tait knows a massive improvement will be required if Motherwell are to stun newly crowned League Cup winners Celtic at Fir Park tonight (Wednesday).
He added:“the best thing for a player when you lose a game is to have another one straight away.
“We have another, albeit a really tough one against Celtic, to look forward to at home and we need to bounce back. We’ve done that a few times.”
