With the festive season in full swing and the battle now on in the music charts for this year’s Christmas number one, the Wishaw Press took to the streets to ask locals what their favourite tune for this time of the year?
For many of us Christmas hasn’t truly started until we hear the old favourites blasting from the radio and in the shopping malls as we look for that perfect gift.

Tesco Christmas DJ James Reid said his favourite festive song is Wizard classic ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day’. He added: “At Christmas my role is to stay on top of the Christmas songs played throughout the store. The customers really enjoy listening to them.”
Patrick Crawley said: “My song has to be ‘Fairytale of New York’.”
Ellen Philips said she loves listening to ‘O Holy Night’ at Christmas time. She added: “It’s a lovely song.”
St Thomas’ Primary pupil Nina Salernitano is a fan of ‘Jingle Bells’.
