Pal’s praise for Lynsey Harris

-

This week’s winner of our Say it with Flowers competition is Newmains mum Lynsey Harris.

Lynsey was nominated by her best friend Nicola Mccabe, who revealed that she has been a huge support to her since she lost her dad to lung cancer in 2010.

Lynsey’s help is even more poignant after she lost her father to the same disease in 2014.

Nicola said: “I lost my dad to lung cancer in 2010 and Lynsey became a continued support and shoulder to cry on.

“Even when she lost her dad to the same disease, she was always there for me any time of night and day.

“Lynsey’s dad was that special he was all my kids’ godfathers and Lynsey is one of my kids’ godmother.

“She’s the best friend anyone could ask for.”

Lynsey and Nicola grew up together in Newmains, attending Newmains Primary and then Clyde Valley High School together.

Their paths continued to cross when they both studied at Motherwell College.

Nicola was also keen to highlight how proud she is of Lynsey as she spreads awareness of good mental health.

She said: “Recent l y Lynsey’s been trying to spread awareness of the fact that it’s ok to be not ok.

“You need to talk about how you feel and not to be ashamed of being depressed or suffer from anxiety.

“She recently got a tattoo that says ‘It’s ok not not to be ok’.”

Lynsey has three children; a daughter Millie and two sons Alfie and Freddie.
