Wishaw sex beast now behind bars

Awishaw man convicted of sexually abusing two young boys has been jailed for three years at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

David Nevans, of Stonecraig Road, will be supervised for two years on his release and Sheriff Marie Smart also ordered him to be placed on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period.

Sixty-year-old Nevans was found guilty of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards the boys at addresses inwishaw in the late 1970s.

The first victim was abused over a period of time, starting when he was five.the second boy was aged between three and five when Nevans molested him.

Nevans denied both charges, but a jury convicted him after trial.
