Await­ing sen­tence

A Colt­ness man who swal­lowed a con­sign­ment of drugs in front of po­lice of­fi­cers will have to wait un­til next month to learn his fate.

Sa­muel Durnion, of In­ner­lei­then Drive, had been due to be sen­tenced at Hamil­ton Sher­iff Court last week.

How­ever, due to re­ports not be­ing pre­pared his case was con­tin­ued un­til Fe­bru­ary 7.

Twenty-year-old Durnion had pleaded guilty at an ear­lier hear­ing to swal­low­ing the drugs in front of of­fi­cers at an ad­dress in Bell­shill Road, Mother­well, on De­cem­ber 8.

Durnion com­mit­ted the of­fence while he was re­leased on bail.

The ac­cused also pleaded guilty to be­ing out­with his bail ad­dress be­tween the hours of his cur­few.
