A baby boy who made his entrance into the world 11 weeks prematurely on Christmas morning weighing little more than a bag of sugar was making great progress according to doctors.

Baby Derryn was born to proud parents Heather Brandon from Newarthill and Corey Mccafferty from Allanton at 3.07am, weighing just 2lbs 7ozs.
