Late equaliser hits Rovers

FORTH 2-2 CAR­LUKE Car­luke were left frus­trated af­ter a con­tro­ver­sial late equaliser cost them all three points at King­shill Park.

The vis­i­tors opened the scor­ing af­ter eleven min­utes. Fol­low­ing sus­tained pres­sure Big­gart played in Larkin on the left who fired in a low cross for Laf­ferty to tap home.

Big­gart al­most put Rovers two ahead when he com­bined with Larkin again but he fired over the bar.

Laf­ferty then bulged the net with a shot but was judged to be off­side.

Forth equalised five min­utes into the sec­ond half when Jarvie got on the end of a neat through ball which he crossed for a Forth for­ward to fire in.

With the game flow­ing end to end Rovers went back ahead on 70 min­utes from a Big­gart cor­ner.

The ini­tial ball was met by Ha­ley only for the Forth keeper to pull off a fine div­ing save at the far post. Larkin slot­ted home the re­bound.

On 80 min­utes Forth equalised as the ball was cleared from de­fence to the right winger.

The re­sult­ing cross was met by a Forth striker who also looked off­side with the ref­eree sev­eral me­tres be­hind the play.
