Late equaliser hits Rovers

-

FORTH 2-2 CARLUKE Carluke were left frustrated after a controversial late equaliser cost them all three points at Kingshill Park.

The visitors opened the scoring after eleven minutes. Following sustained pressure Biggart played in Larkin on the left who fired in a low cross for Lafferty to tap home.

Biggart almost put Rovers two ahead when he combined with Larkin again but he fired over the bar.

Lafferty then bulged the net with a shot but was judged to be offside.

Forth equalised five minutes into the second half when Jarvie got on the end of a neat through ball which he crossed for a Forth forward to fire in.

With the game flowing end to end Rovers went back ahead on 70 minutes from a Biggart corner.

The initial ball was met by Haley only for the Forth keeper to pull off a fine diving save at the far post. Larkin slotted home the rebound.

On 80 minutes Forth equalised as the ball was cleared from defence to the right winger.

The resulting cross was met by a Forth striker who also looked offside with the referee several metres behind the play.
