Hastie at the double as Well keep on winning
Teen’s brace helps earn fourth league win in a row
MOTHERWELL ..........................................3 LIVINGSTON..............................................0 Ben Ramage
Flying winger Hastie notched his third goal in four games for the Steelmen with his brace against Livingston, after making his breakthrough against Ross County in the Scottish Cup last month.
And he is delighted to be playing such a big part in Motherwell’s recent resurgence after their defeat of Livingston put them back in touch with the top six.
Hastie said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to have scored my first Premiership goals.
“It was great to get the man-of-the-match award too. This really is a dream come true.
“I have waited for this moment since I was a wee boy coming all the way up through the youth ranks.
“The goal against Ross County in the Scottish Cup defeat gave me the confidence and belief I could do this.
“My mum and my papa were at the game (against Livingston). Sadly my dad got called out to work as he was gritting the roads.
“I am sure he will watch them on Sportscene and wear the DVD out.”
Manager Stephen Robinson’s decision to switch to a 4-3-3 and focus more on ball retention continued to pay dividends as they took on surprise package Livingston at a freezing Fir Park on Saturday.
