Photographic society is right back in the picture
Motherwell Photographic Society recommenced meetings of the club on Thursday, September 2 .
The opening night meeting took place in Holytown Community Centre and allowed old and new members to introduce or re-introduce themselves to each other and discuss the photographs they had been taking during the summer recess.
Many of the club’s guest speakers last year came from all over the UK and meetings were all held online via the Zoom platform. A number of guest speakers have already been booked for this year, and again, when they are not able to attend in person the meeting for that week will take place online.
Full Track and Trace protocols will be in place for meetings in the Community Centre in Stevenston Street, Holytown.
The club will also adhere to all North Lanarkshire Council Covid-19 protocols, including hand sanitisation, appropriate social distancing and where applicable the wearing of masks. As always, anyone with an interest in photography, no matter your level, is welcome to attend.
The current syllabus for the first half of the year up until Christmas are as follows, but may be subject to change:

October 21: Theme Competition – Prints “Faith” – Images “Creative use of Depth of Field.”
October 28: Image Competition – Judge Rod Wheelans (Zoom)
November 4: Wildlife Portfolio
November 11: Pete Colly – Photographing the Night Sky (Zoom)
November 18 Richard O’Brien – Architecture, Exposure to Edit (Zoom)
November 25: Image Competition – Judge to be confirmed
December 2: Paul Millar Tour of Glencoe December 9: Jayne Swaine Cuba – More than just Cocktails, Cigars and Classic Cars (Zoom) December 16: Christmas Social

Annual fees for members are on £30 plus £2 per night when attending the meeting in the Community Centre.
