“This year it was just the advanced categories due to Covid so there wasn’t a novice category.
“It was the first time in the advanced category that we’ve won as many medals.”
TheCovid-19pandemicmeant that, outside a short-lived return last winter,Vision’s efforts had been put online for over a year before returning in April this year.
Vision’s fighters were booked to jet out to Austria for a prestigious Open which decides Olympic ranking points at senior level. That has been cancelled, but four more ventures into Europe are in the pipeline.
Eden added:“The competition we had booked was the Austrian Open, which is a calendar event every year.
“It’s one of the world-ranking events and our competitors are all juniors and cadets.
“But for the seniors, it’s one of the events that are used to win Olympic ranking points.
“So it’s one of the biggest events in Europe in terms of the different open events.
“It’s already been rescheduled for the end of April, but the 2021 version will be cancelled and it will just be 2022now.Thatwon’tbemadeup.
“If we don’t go to that, there are other competitions for us to go to.
“But we plan on going to four competitions abroad next year.”
