Camera club focuses on contest
The Motherwell Photographic Society was lucky enough to view the Scottish Photographic Federation 2021 Portfolio at its February meeting.
This annual competition is open to camera clubs and individuals and consists of three sections – colour prints, monochrome prints and digital images.
A total of 1806 prints and digital images were received from 33 clubs and after judging, the highest scoring entries formed the annual portfolio.
Brian Saberton facilitated the presentation of the colour print and monochrome print sections.
On this interactive evening, members were able to comment on the quality of the entries and give their opinions on the scores and awards received.
The club had one image accepted in the colour print section;“Effort”by Dominic Smith which scored 12 points out of 15.The club was also 24th equal overall in the colour section.
In the monochrome print section the club had two images accepted;“A Bit of a Peaky Blinder”by Linda Greenhill and “Enslaved”by Dominic Smith, both scoring 12 points out of 15.
Overall the club was 8th equal in the monochrome section – a fantastic result.
The club returns to the community centre for a practical night for its next meeting, and members are encouraged to bring along their camera and tripods.
