Active Schools coordinator Regan Reid was praised by staff as,“an invaluable support to the school, providing additional clubs, organising sports events and festivals and creating CPD opportunities for the staff”.

Sarah Reilly, head teacher of Glencairn Primary School, said:“We are extremely proud of our school for achieving the gold school sports award from SportScotland.

“Our sports committee has worked extremely hard this year to develop school sport in Glencairn Primary to achieve the award.

“Led by our principal teacher, Mr Galloway, and supported by our Active Schools coordinator Regan Reid, we have created opportunities for pupil participation and staff development throughout the school.

“We work closely with parents, local sports clubs, local colleges and others and we wish to thank everyone who has made this award possible.

“The hard work will continue at Glencairn Primary as we continue to provide new sporting opportunities for our pupils in the years to come.

“Our sports committee is extremely proud of our gold award, and the school is proud of every one of our pupils, parents and members of our sporting community who have contributed to this award.”
