WADE to host beer festival
A REAL ALE and music festival will help raise funds for a charity that helps look after the borough’s senior citizens, writes Theo Hunt.
Organised by Wokingham Lions, the fun day will take place at the venue it aims to help on Saturday, September
16.
Acts will include local musical legend Pauly Zarb, as well as Mega-Rush and Rick Seinfeld.
Alongside the music there will be plenty of drinks, lots of food and activities for children to enjoy.
Organisers are hoping that the specially selected range of craft ales will delight festivalgoers.
The event will be held at WADE (Wokingham and District Elderley Assocation) in Wokingham’s Reading Road from 11am until 10.30pm.
And there will be plenty of covers to ensure that if it’s wet, the fun can go on.
One of the organising team, John Cleary, said: “It’s been great fun putting this event together...we have a great day lined up.”
Tickets are now on sale and cost £8, which includes a drink at the bar, while accompanied under 14s get in free with a paying adult.
Sue Jackson, President of Wokingham Lions, said: “There is a limit on the number of tickets available and they are selling very quickly.”
