Rockets welcome pair

-

READING ROCKETS have recruited two British stars ahead of the upcoming NBL Division One season.

Sydney Donaldson and Jonny Foulds (pictured) are the latest recruits, joining fellow newcomers Tim Gill and Scotty Hendricks plus returning players Danny Carter, Joel Keeble and Ali Sbai.

Donaldson is a well-known face to Rockets having formed a key part of NBL Division One rivals’ Derby Trailblazers during the 2015-16 season.

The 26-year-old graduated from the College of Idaho in 2015, averaging 15 points in his senior year.

“I am well aware of the great history this club has,” said Donaldson. “After learning more about the vision, I quickly realised that this was something I wanted to be a part of.”

Like recent arrival Hendricks, Foulds has also played for Tees Valley Mohawks.

The 6’5 guard/forward spent three seasons there before linking up with Kent Crusaders last campaign.

Englishman Foulds is currently studying a Masters at the University of East London, but is looking forward to continuing his basketball career at the same time.

“Having competed against Reading in previous seasons, the professionalism of the club has always stood out to me,” he said. “It’s exciting to be a part of the talented team we are going to have this season.”

Rockets are expected to make at least one more signing before the 2017-18 campaign gets underway.
