A WOMAN from Woodley has been given a conditional discharge after pleading guilty to assault.
Alice Muchiri, 38, of Rushbrook Road, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 16 where she admitted assaulting a man in Reading on July 30 this year.
Ms Muchiri was given a conditional discharge for six months; ordered to pay a surcharge of £20; and costs of £85.
A WOMAN from Arborfield has pleaded guilty to assault.
Catherine Ibe, 30, of Venning Road, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 16 where she admitted assaulting a man in Arborfield on July 29 this year.
Mrs Ibe was given a conditional discharge for six months; ordered to pay a surcharge of £20; and costs of £85.
A MAN from Woodley has been given a rehabilitation order after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in order to resist or prevent an arrest.
Luke Kevin Joseph, 19, of
Raleigh Close, appeared at
Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 17 where he had previously issued an indicated plea of guilty to assaulting a police officer in Woodley on July 5 this year.
The officer did not sustain any serious injuries during the incident.
Mr Joseph was ordered to participate in a rehabilitation programme for up to 30 days, and to participate in an activity requirement for up to 10 days. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £85 and costs of £85.
A MAN from Woodley is due to appear in court charged with stealing brandy from Waitrose.
Daniel Brian Storrar, 31, of Rowan Drive, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 17 where he denied stealing two bottles of the alcoholic drink, worth £55, from Waitrose in Woodley on April 2 this year.
He also denied four counts of failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates’ Court on July 18 and July 27.
Mr Storrar has been remanded on bail until November 6 for the trial at the same court. He is to attend Loddon Valley Police Station between 2pm and 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and to live and sleep each night at his address in Rowan Drive, until that date.
A WOMAN from Woodley has been given a suspended prison sentence for driving offences.
Zoey Anne Rooke, 25, of Hunters Court, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 17 where she pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified in Winnersh on July 5; driving without insurance on July 5; driving while disqualified in Winnersh on June 21; driving without insurance on June 21; and commissioning a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge order.
Miss Rooke was given a 16-week
prison sentence, suspended for two years; ordered to carry out a rehabilitation requirement for up to 25 days; pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £115; and disqualified from holding a licence for 47 months.
A WOMAN from Woodley is due to appear in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Pertpall Sall, 68, of Headley
Road East, is accused of causing the death of Sonata Saulytyte by driving dangerously in Oxford Road, Reading on December 8 last year.
She is also charged with causing serious injury to Liam Brinkley at the same time.
Mrs Sall has been sent for trial at Reading Crown Court on September 19.
A TEENAGER from Arborfield is due to appear in court charged with causing criminal damage.
The boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is accused of damaging the wing mirror of a car in Wokingham on April 2 this year. The boy has denied the charge.
He has been remanded on unconditional bail to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on September 20 for the trial.
