Help recognise borough’s amazing women

NOMINATION­S are now being taken to recognise women in Wokingham who have done something amazing for their community.

The Sue Ryder Southern Women of Achievemen­t Awards was officially launched on Thursday, September 7, and is celebrates women from across Berkshire, Buckingham­shire and Oxfordshir­e who have achieved amazing success and stand out as role models in their local areas.

There are seven award categories: Woman of Achievemen­t in Business; Woman of Achievemen­t in the Community; Woman of Achievemen­t in Education; Woman of Achievemen­t in Sports; Woman of Achievemen­t in Services; Young Woman of Achievemen­t and the Sue Ryder Courage Award. The awards are sponsored by Invesco Perpetual, CH&Co and Higgs Group.

As well as recognisin­g those women who have made such a difference, the awards are one of the charity’s biggest fundraisin­g events helping the charity to continue to provide the services they offer across the region.

The glittering award ceremony will be held at Reading Town

Hall on Friday, February 16, and readers are encouraged to get their nomination­s in now.
