Perfect 10 sees Woodley maintain unbeaten start
CHARLIE SUMNER netted four goals as FC Woodley smashed Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves 10-0 to preserve their unbeaten start in Division 2.
Liam Besant also bagged a hat-trick, while William Gordon (2) and Matt Godwin scored in the rout. HARCHESTER HAWKS are still seeking their first win of the season after a 2-1 loss at South Reading, despite a goal from Philip Wright.
Jason Baverstock fired in a late winner as
FINCHAMPSTEAD sealed a 4-3 win over Langley Galaxy in the
Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup.
Finches netted early through Robert Tudor-Williams and move into the next round after further goals from Luke Hanley and Chase Jacobs, before Baverstock’s 84th minute strike.
In the same cup, BINFIELD
RESERVES edged past
WOKINGHAM AND EMMBROOK RESERVES 2-1 while Tim Grenham was among the scorers as HURST RESERVES beat Signcraft 3-1.
Up in the Premier Division, WOODLEY UNITED ROYALS
battled back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at home to Newbury.
Woodley fell behind, but equalised thanks to a Callum Samuel-Harman strike.
And from 3-1 down at the break, the hosts secured a point with Samuel-Harman adding another before Jake White’s 62nd minute equaliser.
Stuart Moss netted four goals
as WARGRAVE kicked off their Division 3 campaign with a
7-1 thrashing of Highmoor Ibis Athletic. Moss’ four as well as strikes from Callum Alliston, Shaun Kitzinger and Jack Morris ensured it was a perfect start.
Elsewhere, HURST A saw off Henley Town Reserves 3-2 thanks to goals from Peter Jones, Paul Novell and Andrew Prosser.
Down in Division 4, a firsthalf Jose Ribeiro hat-trick set
TWYFORD AND RUSCOMBE on their way to an entertaining 6-3 win over Taplow United A.
Michael Jones also bagged a treble, two of which came before the break, as Twyford got off to a blistering start.
WOODLEY UNITED B also began with a win, beating
HARCHESTER HAWKS DEVELOPMENT 2-0.
In the Sunday Leagues, WOODLEY UNITED are still waiting to get off the mark in the Reading and District Premier Division, losing 4-2 to Athletico Forest, despite a brace from Rob Timbers.
