TWO men from Wokingham are due to appear in court charged with stealing lead.

Steven Peter Orme, 37, of All Saints Close, and Sean Raymond Primmer, 36, of Pigott Road, are both charged with two counts of stealing lead from premises in Wokingham on March 23 this year. Both men deny both charges.

They have been remanded on unconditio­nal bail to appear at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on November 14 for the trial.

A WOMAN from Winnersh has been found guilty of driving offences.

Danielle McKenna, 24, of Rainbow Park, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on September 26 where she was found guilty of driving while over the alcohol limit; and driving without due care and attention.

She pleaded guilty to failing to stop after a road accident.

All three charges relate to an incident in Wokingham on June 23 this year.

Ms McKenna was fined £660; ordered to pay a surcharge of £66, and costs of £775. She was also disqualifi­ed from holding a licence for 22 months.

A MAN from Riseley has pleaded guilty to driving offences and possessing a knife in public.

Henry Finney, 45, of The Devil’s Highway, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on September 27 where he pleaded guilty to driving while over the alcohol limit in Swallowfie­ld on August 28 this year. He was fined £250, ordered to pay a surcharge of £30, and costs of £85. He was also disqualifi­ed from holding a licence for 12 months.

He also pleaded guilty to using a car without third party insurance in Swallowfie­ld on the same day, for which he was fined £250.

Mr Finney also admitted possessing a folding pocket knife, with a blade exceeding three inches, in Swallowfie­ld on the same day. Mr Finney argued that he used the pocket knife for work, and the possession was a genuine oversight. For this charge, he was given a conditiona­l discharge for 18 months; and the pocket knife was destroyed.

A MAN from Earley has admitted breaching a restrainin­g order.

William Gough, 30, of Stowmarket Close, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on September 27 where he admitted attending an address on September 9 that he was prohibited from attending, as laid out in a restrainin­g order imposed by the same court on September 1.

Mr Gough was given a conditiona­l discharge for 12 months, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20.

A MAN from Riseley has admitted stealing two television­s from Asda.

Gary Martin Mohan, 42, of

Part Lane, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on September 27 where he admitted stealing the television­s, worth £538, from the Lower Earley supermarke­t on September 10.

Mr Mohan was given a conditiona­l discharge for 18 months; ordered to pay a surcharge of £20, and costs of £85.

A MAN is due to appear in court charged with stealing trees from outside a property in Wokingham.

Assad Banaras, 39, of London Road, Reading, is charged with stealing two bay trees, decorated with Christmas lights, worth £140, from a property in London Road, Wokingham, on December 10 last year. Mr Banaras denies the charge.

He has been remanded on bail to appear at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on November 7 for the trial.

He is to report to Reading police station between 5pm and 7pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and to live and sleep at his address each night until the trial.

A MAN from Finchampst­ead has been jailed for driving offences.

Ian Lindsey Gilbert, 51, of Jerrymoor Hill, appeared at

Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on September 28 where he was sentenced for the two charges, which he had been found guilty of on September 22.

Mr Gilbert was found guilty of one charge of driving while over the alcohol limit, and one charge of driving whilst disqualifi­ed. Both charges relate to an incident in Sheerlands Road, Arborfield, on January 3 this year.

Mr Gilbert was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison; ordered to carry out a rehabilita­tion activity for up to 25 days within the next 12 months; ordered to pay a surcharge of £115; and costs of £250. He was also disqualifi­ed from holding a licence for three years.

A MAN from Wokingham has been fined £1,500 for driving while over the alcohol limit.

William John James Rabie, 43, of Dyer Road, appeared at Reading Magistrate­s’ Court on September 28 where he was sentenced for driving while over the alcohol limit in Reading on May 30 this year.

He was fined £1,500; ordered to pay a surcharge of £120; and costs of £775.

He was also disqualifi­ed from holding a licence for 16 months.
