U11s enjoy double winning streak

-

WOKINGHAM DISTRICT Under-11s enjoyed a fine week with victory in league and cup.

After hitting the woodwork several times during the early stages, Wokingham were punished by Sutton in the Southern Counties Cup, falling 1-0 behind.

But they responded well to lead 2-1 at halftime thanks to an Ejiro Abbey brace.

Sutton turned the game around to go 3-2 ahead but a goal from Josh Murray before Amar Bakkati’s last gasp effort sealed a dramatic 4-3 victory.

And they followed that up with a league win on Monday, away at Gloucester.

Despite being short of players due to half-term, Wokingham performed well and took a 2-0 win with two goals from Emil Mursalov.

WHITEKNIGHTS BLUES U16s are now unbeaten in three matches after a 4-1 victory at Curley Park Rangers.

Alex Sutton broke the deadlock with a free kick after 15 minutes and although Curley Park levelled, further strikes from Noel Kosta (2) and Sutton again.

SPENCER’S WOOD Under-13s football side have a new kit sponsor.

Bellway Homes, located behind the nearby Langford Park development, will have their logo on the front of the Spencer’s Wood strip for the upcoming season.

The club formed in 1977 and has teams from U7s all the way to veteran level and this U13 side won promotion last season.
