Unbeaten in seven, Moles hold on for draw

-

Binfield 2 Tuffley Rovers 2

BINFIELD extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches after coming from behind to draw against Tuffley.

This was the first of six home games in the next seven for the Moles and they got off to the perfect start through Ian Davies.

But Tuffley battled back to lead at the break thanks to goals from Kieran Alder and Warren Mann.

Binfield responded after the restart, quickly levelling courtesy of an own goal on 52 minutes and that is how it stayed.

Roger Herridge made three changes from the side which drew at Thatcham Town with Matt Hill replacing Henry Craven in goal while Jack Broome and Sean Moore came in for Joe Gritt and Brad Pagliaroli.

And the hosts led after just five minutes when Davies followed in to score following Moore’s saved shot.

The scores were levelled from the penalty spot when Shayne Bradley was brought down and Mann made no mistake.

Captain James Knight was denied by goalkeeper Eric Edge and Tuffley got their noses in front when Alder poached his first goal for the club from close range.

Charley Tuttle almost equalised minutes after the restart with a free-kick, but Edge made a flying stop and the scores were tied up again at 2-2 when Danny Wallington turned into his own net.

Jeff Brown was also denied by Edge but the defender came closer to scoring at his own net and was fortunate his deflection hit the post.
