Motorists warned: keep it locked to beat thieves

MOTORISTS in Twyford are being urged to always lock their cars following a continued spate of thefts in the area.

Overnight on Tuesday, October 31 into the following day, a car left unlocked in Broadwater Road was broken into by thieves. Loose change was stolen from inside.

At around midnight on Wednesday, November 1, still in Broadwater Road, a resident heard a dog barking outside, and in the morning they found their car had been opened and searched.

On the same night, someone went into two unlocked cars parked in Hurst Road, stealing a wallet from one of them. Anyone who saw anything or heard anything suspicious should call 101, quoting reference 43170324420.

A car parked in Wessex Gardens was targeted on overnight on Tuesday, October 31 into Wednesday. The car had been left unlocked, and an iPad which was stolen. Anyone with any information relating to this theft should call 101, quoting reference 43170324433.

Between 2.30pm and 6.15pm on Wednesday, November 1, someone forced the front door of a property in Springfield Park. The offenders stole a purse, containing cash and bank cards, and car keys of a vehicle which they then stole from the driveway. Finally, also in Springfield Park on Wednesday, a resident noticed someone had attempted to break into their garage during the day.
