Triple braces give Sonning 2s the edge

THREE men bagged braces as Sonning 2s fired 10 goals past Ashford 2s in MBBO Division 1.

Poulton and Harvey Richardson all netted twice with Stephen Ridley, Mark Cooke, Mark Dobbie and Nathan Toms also scoring in the 10-0 rout.

Just one point separated the sides going into the game, but Sonning now leap up to seventh.

Up in Regional 2, SONNING’S first team drew 2-2 at Banbury 2s.

Ian Gallagher and Noel Plant scored the goals, but the point sees them slip to seventh.

Logan Russell’s goal came in vain as SOUTH BERKSHIRE 2s lost 2-1 at Marlow 2s in Division 2.

The 3s were also beaten, losing out 2-1 against Henley 3s and also in Division 3, SONNING 3s lost 1-0 at

Oxford Hawks 5s.

SONNING 4s remain winless in Division 4 after a 1-0 home defeat to Leighton Buzzard, but the 5s picked up a point in 8 West with a 2-2 draw at Phoenix and Ranelagh 3s.

SOUTH BERKSHIRE TERRIERS lost 5-1 at home to Reading Rascals.

There were mixed fortunes for Sonning’s Ladies.

The first team leapt up to fifth in South Clubs’ Division 3A with a 4-2 win against struggling Hampstead and Westminste­r 3s.

Sonning have lost just two of their opening seven matches and face another winnable game at Milton Keynes on Saturday.

But the 2s were beaten 3-1 against third-placed Slough 2s.

Also in Trysports Premier 1, SOUTH BERKSHIRE were beaten 2-1 at Marlow 2s, with Lana Wallis among the scorers.

Goals from Rebecca Black and Caroline Batten earned Oxford Hawks 4s a 2-0 win at SOUTH BERKSHIRE 2s in Premier 2.

SONNING LADIES 3s stay second in Division 1 after a 3-0 win at Bicester.

Sofia Reina’s goal was not enough to prevent defeat for SOUTH BERKSHIRE LADIES 3s as they lost 2-1 at Marlow 4s in Division 3.

Elsewhere there were wins for SONNING 4s and 5s while Diana Ritchie’s goal earned a 1-0 win for SOUTH BERKSHIRE 4s against SONNING VETERANS.
