Kop tie planned as U11s are champions
WOKINGHAM District Under-11s have been crowned South Regional champions and will now compete in the national finals.
Wokingham did not concede a single goal throughout the southern tournament, beating Southampton, Basingstoke and Newbury all 2-0 on the way to the final.
Emil Mursalov (3), Ejiro Abbey, George Weston-Brown and Josh Murray all scored for Stuart Bevan’s side but the final against Aldershot proved to be a tight affair.
Despite dominating possession, the game was forced all the way to penalties after a goalless draw where goalkeeper Pranav Ganti was the hero, saving Aldershot’s fifth penalty allowing Murray to slot home the winning spot kick.
