Festive fair provides end of term treat

-

WHITEKNIGHTS Primary School had a festive finish to the end of the year by holding their Christmas Fair last Wednesday afternoon.

Friends and families of Whiteknights were invited to attend and there were lots of activities for pupils to enjoy including a chocolate tombola, a lucky dip, lucky lolly, a raffle and a chocolate spinner game.

Free activities included

Christmas biscuit decorating and Christmas card making.

Parents were able to sit down and enjoy and hot drink and mince pie whilst the choir sang some beautiful carols. Even Santa came to visit and spent much time chatting to the pupils.

Crafts were available to buy at the fair which had been made by pupils from all year groups, from reception through to Year 6. Craft items included reindeer poop, reindeer food, beaded tree decorations and candy cane reindeers.

The final profit was just over £1,000 and these funds are being put towards an outdoor assault course for Key Stage 2 pupils. They hope to reach their target by the end of this academic year.

Headteacher Francois Walker said: “Our pupils really enjoyed making crafts for the fair; they demonstrated enterprise and initiative and produced delightful items. We are very proud of what they have achieved.”

Debbie Winyard, Chair of Whiteknights Parents Community Association (WPCA) said: “It was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by parents and pupils alike. Thank you to everyone who helped to organise the event”.

If any local businesses wish to donate any raffle prizes for our Summer Fair, the WPCA would be most grateful.
