Children from Finchampst­ead Primary School took part in a special fun run last Friday.

To mark Christmas Jumper Day, the pupils ran two laps of the Memorial Ground. Each of the pupils wore festive attire including a Santa hat.

BEER lovers got into the Christmas spirit on Sunday night thanks to the Broad Street Tavern. The pub hosted its annual Beer and Carols event which included a 12 Days of Christmas -themed quiz as well as the chance to sing festive songs.

STAFF from Wokingham solicitors firm Clifton Ingram did their bit to try and make the ‘world better in a sweater’ by taking part in Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day last week. Over 40 staff wore jolly jumpers in the firm’s Reading and Wokingham offices and raised £250 for disadvanta­ged children. In the last three months, Clifton Ingram’s staff have taken part in a number of good causes including Children in Need, Jeans 4 Genes, the Rotary Shoe Box Scheme, Macmillan Coffee Morning and the Reading Legal Walk, raising more than £1,500 for charity in the process.

FESTIVE cards created by pupils at Montague Park Primary School were rewarded by David Wilson Homes at a special assembly on Tuesday. Borough Mayor Cllr Rob Stanton presented the prizes to Kaia, Ufan and Evie at an assembly.

St Pauls Church Choir and Evendons Primary School Choir teamed up for a carol concert at the Reading Road church on Sunday, December 10. The event raised £700 for the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice.
