I want you to be a model!

- Personal fitness with Chris Hunt

DID you speak it last week? Did you believe it? Finally did you receive it last week? I am a firm believer that good things come to those that work hard, work smart and dedicate time to helping themselves and others grow in a positive manner.

Has the last week been a growth-based week? Using my Habits M.A.S.T.E.R.Y model you can easily break down areas that you need to focus on when it comes to mastering your health and fitness and therefore your life:

M (Morning Rituals) – What routines that you have actually add to your life and what routines add stress to it?

A (Acknowledge the importance of Nutrition) – Is there a food or drink that you need to cut down on? Do you need to start eating more of something to cover all your nutritional bases?

S (State of Mind) – What practices should you be doing more of or actually start to do? What thoughts are going through your head on a daily basis?

T (Training) – How many days per week do you train? What is the focus of your training?

Are you following a balanced program and if not, why not?

E (Environment) – I am a huge fan of managing everything within your life including home, work and family for example. If there is something that doesn’t sit well, what is it? What piece of your life jigsaw doesn’t fit at the moment?

R (Rest and Recovery) – Do you get adequate sleep for your lifestyle? Do you rest in the correct way? How do you feel on a daily basis?

Y (You) – The last part is slightly important as YOU can imagine. What do you want to achieve? What has worked for you in the past? What hasn’t worked for you in the past? What makes you different to everyone else?

When you have a plan you can track.

When you have trackable metrics to assess you can get feedback.

When you get feedback you can move forward. As you move forward you can achieve results. The more results you attain the happier you will be.

The happier you become, the more life starts giving back.

When you start receiving more back in life you can embrace it and everyone you come into contact with can improve too.

As you know by now I work with systems and I love working with models and also modelling.

I would love to say that the modelling I am talking about concerns catwalks and gorgeous models both male and female but I’m afraid not my friend. This type of modelling is much cooler; in fact it’s insanely cool.

Modelling is a big part of my daily job when it comes to working with my clients both privately face to face and also online. Modelling is the process of recreating excellence. We can model any human behaviour by mastering the beliefs, the physiology and the specific thought processes that underlie the skill or behaviour.

It is about achieving an outcome by studying how someone else goes about it.

Pretty cool, heh?

This week I want you to pick someone you aspire to be like. This may be a friend, this could be a colleague, it could be a role model... It really doesn’t matter but the person has to be a person that is doing well in the area you want to do better at?

I love being a confident speaker so I study some of the world’s best speakers such as Tony Robbins, Barack Obama and my buddy Andy Harrington.

I want to be a better NLP coach so I watch videos and attend courses run by the great NLP experts such as Ewan Mochrie, Richard Bandler and John Grinder.

A huge goal of mine is to have a hub for junior boxers and have our very own Olympian boxer that started boxing at Wokingham and Emmbrook Boxing Club. This is why I watch videos and attend seminars by top boxing coaches and experts.

I love watching the old videos of Mike Tyson with Cus D’Amato and Kevin Rooney.

Using the M.A.S.T.E.R.Y formula we went through earlier, I want you to study someone and see how they conduct themselves on a daily basis.

What morning routines do they partake in? How do they eat? What do they snack on? Do they meditate? What language do they use and what language do they speak?

Where do they train? Do they focus on bodyweight training? Do they spend hours at the gym?

What environmental factors are they Jedi warriors in?

At what time do they go to bed? What time do they wake up? How many hours core sleep do they get per night?

What makes them different? What makes them tick?

Now when you do all of this, don’t be too obvious but do take a serious interest in them, this person could be the huge piece in your life jigsaw you are missing.

To finish this week I want to leave you with a quote that I absolutely love:

“Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.”

Have a great Thursday and now go out and enjoy your next seven days of modelling.
