How to rise and shine

-

JUST seven days ago we spoke about ATTITUDE. There were some key points that you could have taken from last week’s article but the ones I want you to take on board are: “You are in control of your attitudes.”

“You are in control of your decisions.”

“You are in control of everything that happens in your life.”

“A bad attitude is like a flat tyre. If you don’t change it, you’ll never go anywhere. “

A POSITIVE ATTITUDE WILL LEAD TO POSITIVE OUTCOMES… I PROMISE YOU.

You will know by now that I am as positive a guy as you will find anywhere. I will back myself against anyone when it comes to positivity and being the best that you can be. Why do I back myself? It’s simple. I back myself because I live and breathe positivity daily and it starts from the moment I wake up.

This week I want to talk to you about a case study. That case study is me and my morning routine.

You see as a coach there is nothing worse than seeing so many coaches out there talking the talk but not walking the walk. I am a big fan of walking the walk. I am the first to admit I may not be always perfect but as I touched on a couple of week’s ago “THERE IS NO NEED TO BE PERFECT.”

Keep walking the walk one step at a time. Leadership means walking the walk and not just talking the talk.

In the words of one the most unbelievable people to ever walk this earth … Tony Robbins:

“I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people that live what they teach, who walk their walk.”

This week I am going to walk you through my own personal M.O.R.N.I.N.G routine.

As you are probably aware by now I have a model that I use with nearly all of my clients. It is called my Habit M.A.S.T.E.R.Y Formula.

M.A.S.T.E.R.Y relates to the various aspects I honestly believe if you manage can lead to short term and long term happiness and success when it comes to owning your mind and your body and therefore you’re LIFE.

So what does M.O.R.N.I.N.G stand for I hear you say?

M – Meditation

O – Own your structure

R – Reading

N – Note the day

I – Improvement of Self

N – Never ignore the M.I.T

G – Growth mentality

Now as everyone is different there are many options you can use and many manipulations you can make with the formula. You will see how my own personal routine is based on the model above:

M – 10 minute meditation or Self Hypnosis Session.

O – Go through my calendar and emails and process my day out first thing.

R – Reading one of my books or watching a YouTube video for around 10 minutes.

N – Assess pain points or periods of the day which vary in intensity.

I – Affirmations and Positive self-talk.

N – Always establish my Most Important Task no matter what.

G – Conduct some exercise and read 2 pages from my Psychology book.

As you can see from the above I WALK THE WALK. Do you want to walk the walk too?

There are a million things you could to improve various aspects of your life but today I want you to improve just 30 mins of your day. Can you guess what 30 minutes I want you to improve?

OK, so it was pretty obvious. The period I want you to improve is the first 30 minutes of the day.

I have been preaching this stuff for a while now and I have heard that the rest of the local trainers are starting to jump on the FUNdaMENTAL train too. They must read this column too right?

Starting right now I want you to conduct an assessment of your morning routine. Give it a score out of 10. A “1” would be complete chaos. A “10” would be complete ownership. I give myself a score of 9 as I always think there is room for improvement but that’s just me, OK?

Now I want you to look at what you do every morning and try and fit what you do into my M.O.R.N.I.N.G Formula. Do you meditate? Do you own your day? Do you read or consume information before the days tries to take over? Do you note your day? Do you seek improvement of yourself? Have you prioritised identifying your most important task? Would you say that you follow a growth based way of living?

I love giving out homework. Taking action and giving accountability is what it’s all about.

This week please complete your homework. I promise you that owning that first 30 minutes could be the best thing you will do this week, this month and potentially this year.

Happy Thursday… now go and deactivate the snooze button!
