GDPR seminar training session

-

BUSINESSES looking for a better understanding of the new GDPR regulations coming into effect from the beginning of May are invited to a free training seminar taking place on Tuesday morning.

Barclays Bank, LAUDIS Business Advisors, and Trident Assurance Services are leading the session aimed at explaining what businesses need to know about the new Data Protection Legislation.

This replaces the Data Protection 1998 Act and aims to provide a comprehensive legal framework for data protection in the UK. It will be supplemented by the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), which come into force on May 25.

The seminar will explain the changes and give a general overview of the Data Protection Bill and the GDPR and how they will affect most organisations.

There will also be guidance for implementation from the Information Commissioner’s Office.

While the UK is an EU member, all obligations of EU membership remain in force (accordingly, GDPR comes into force in May). When the UK leaves the EU, the ‘applied’ GDPR will be incorporated into the UK’s domestic law under the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill, currently before Parliament.

This seminar is delivered by Trident Assurance Ltd’s senior consultant, Brian Penfold, who is a certified GDPR practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience in risk management, safety, compliance and assurance in highly-regulated environments.

It is organised by the

Thames Valley Berkshire Business Growth Hub and takes place at Bracknell Enterprise & Innovation Hub, Ocean House, The Ring in Bracknell.

Registration is at 8.45am and the session runs until 11.30am.
